February 2023
I was diagnosed type 2 Diabetic Friday 7 March 2023. I have been on
different pills since Monday 10 March 2023 but never on the needle*!
I have had various MDs and three
different Nurse Practitioner. I test my blood sugar upon getting out of bed and
2 hours after "forks down" after my evening meals.

Lately, I have been forgetting to note down my “forks down” time. I’m trying
to do better but I am not sure if it really matters.
My heart surgeon asked me to keep track of my morning blood sugar, The last
time his RN checked it, it was low. I think his meter was defective.
*Insulin
**I felt light headed around 10 am and looked up the causes. The main three
were stroke, dehydration and hypoglycemia. I felt a mixture of hunger and
stomach pain soon after and decided it must be hypo!
*** I think I took my evening pills..
**** We had spaghetti for dinner and the resulting high blood sugar
was a horrifying surprise,
Pen: I received a
chilled bag with one Ozempic Pen. This is good for 4 weekly shots of 0.25 mg
and 2 weekly shots of 0.5 mg, The Pen is incredibly easy to use. It was literally
painless and in fact, was much less painless than testing my fingers. I will
have to see how future shots are.
The VA Pharmacy told me I would be getting 2 pens vice one. It seems so many
non-diabeteics (the bastards!) are using
Ozempic for weight loss that there could be a shortage. It just means I might
go without for a few days even if I order 15 days in advance.
Two VA RNs instructed me and I am tempted to go back in a week to have them
supervise my second shot. I don’t think I will need further training and I don’t
think I’ll need my wife to inject me.
