Current State of My Diabetics
For years, my A1C and required twice a day and twice a week blood
testing showed results I did not like much. A couple of months ago, my
VA Doc upped my morning 5mg glyburide to 10mg and added 5mg in the evening.
This resulted in several morning episodes of hypoglycemia.
I have a new MD (well OD) who was concerned with this hypo.
He removed the evening 5mg glipizide and moved my 100mg Januvia to the
morning. He did this so that my evening blood readings would be lower.
This appears to be working out.
I still test Tuesday and Thursday. The morning test remains right after
I get out of bed in the morning. The evening testing has been switched
from two hours after I started eating to two hours after I "put fork
down" and officially ended my evening meal.
I am happy at these better results.
